A screenshot saved from Instagram. A photo of a ring you saw through a shop window. A rough pencil sketch on the back of an envelope. Most people carrying an idea like this assume custom gemstone jewellery means a long, complicated process - or a budget only for the very few.
At Rasikh Gems & Jewellers, it isn't. If you can show us what you have in mind, we can build it - as a stone ring, a pendant, a necklace, or a bracelet, in certified natural gemstones set in 18K gold. Here is exactly what happens between your idea and the finished piece.

Step 1: Share Your Gemstone Jewellery Design Reference

You don't need a professional design file to get started with your custom gemstone jewellery. A phone screenshot, Pinterest image, or even a hand-drawn sketch is enough for our team to understand your idea and begin creating your personalised design.

  • Share multiple references: You can send several images, even if they are from different jewellery pieces. For example, you might prefer the band from one ring and the colour or gemstone setting from another. These details help us understand exactly what you want.
  • Tell us what you like: Mention specific details such as the gemstone shape, setting height, band width, metal colour, or overall style. The more details you share, the more accurately we can prepare your initial design.

Online photos can sometimes make gemstones appear larger or look different because of lighting and photography. That's why we use your references as a starting point and then create a design based on your actual gemstone, preferred proportions, and requirements.

Step 2: Choose Your Certified Loose Stone First

Most retail jewellers work backwards from your point of view: you pick a finished setting from a display tray, and whatever stone fits it is what you get.

At Rasikh Gems & Jewellers, you choose the stone first - while it's still loose and unmounted. You can view it under proper light, check its true colour against your skin, and see it from every angle before any metal is built around it. Once you're happy with the stone, whether it's an emerald pendant stone or the centre piece for a necklace, the setting is designed around its exact measurements rather than the other way round.

If your stone was recommended as part of a birth chart consultation, this is also the stage where that guidance is reflected in the piece - for example, a specific metal or prong count traditionally associated with a particular planet. Our in-house consultant, Dr. MM Raza, can advise on this alongside the design team if your piece is being made for astrological purposes.

Every stone we work with also carries a lab certificate from GIA, GRS, or IGI, and you can read more about how gemstone certification works on our gemstone lab testing page

Step 3: Approve the Design Before Any Gold Is Melted

Once your stone is selected, our design team creates a 3D digital preview of your exact piece. This gives you a clear view of the proportions, band width, setting, and overall appearance before production begins.

This is the ideal stage to request any changes. You can adjust the band width, prong count, setting height, or gold colour- whether you prefer yellow, white, or rose gold. Nothing moves into production until you have reviewed and approved the final design.

Step 4: Handcrafted in Our Dubai Workshop

Once you sign off on the design, it becomes a physical piece:

  • The approved design is cast in 18K or 22K gold.
  • A master craftsman sets the stone by hand under magnification, so it sits level, secure, and true to the design.
  • The piece is filed, cleaned, and polished to a final finish.

Everything happens under one roof at our Dubai workshop - your stone is never sent out to a third party for setting, and what you approved on screen is what arrives in your hands. Whether it's a single ruby jewellery piece or a matched set, the process is the same.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long does a custom gemstone jewellery piece take to make?
A: Timelines vary by design and stone availability, but most custom pieces move from approved design to finished piece within a few weeks. Our team can give you a specific estimate once your design and stone are confirmed.

Q: Can I bring my own gemstone to be set into a custom design?
A: Yes. If you already own a certified natural gemstone, our craftsmen can design and set it into a new ring, pendant, necklace, or bracelet.

Q: Do you make custom pieces for men?
A: Yes, including men's stone bracelets and rings, designed and set to order.

Q: Can I see my design before it's made?
A: Yes - every custom order includes a design preview stage before any gold is cast, so changes can be made at no cost before production begins.

Q: How many revisions can I request before the design is finalised?
A: You can request changes to the CAD preview until you're satisfied with the proportions, setting, and metal colour. Production only starts once you give final approval.

Q: Can you recreate a design I've seen in a photo, or will my piece be original?
A: We use your reference images for inspiration - proportions, style, and setting details - but every piece we build is made to your individual specifications rather than reproduced as an exact copy of someone else's branded design.

Q: Do you offer custom gemstone jewellery for clients outside the UAE?
A: Yes. International clients can share reference images and stone preferences remotely, review the CAD design online, and have the finished piece shipped once approved.

Q: Do I need to pay the full amount upfront for a custom order?
A: Payment terms are confirmed with you once your stone and design are finalised. Our team will walk you through the exact process for your specific order on WhatsApp or in-store.

Q: Can I choose the gold karat and colour for my custom piece?
A: Yes. You can select 18K or 22K gold, and choose between yellow, white, or rose gold at the design preview stage.

Q: What happens if I'm not happy with the finished piece?
A: Because you approve the CAD design before anything is cast, surprises at delivery are rare. If an adjustment is still needed after completion, bring the piece into any Rasikh Gems & Jewellers branch and our craftsmen will address it.
